Abstract

Hadith, the second source of Islamic knowledge after the Quran, needs explanation. The efforts of hadith scholars and commentators of hadith to accurately record and explain narrations have long been of interest, which has led to the formation of the science of hadith jurisprudence based on coherent and methodical approaches. The analysis of the commentary of Muwatta is important both because Muwatta is among the first written hadith heritage and because it was examined by a well-known commentator. Therefore, the main purpose of the article is to analyze and examine the methods of hadith jurisprudence in the commentary of Al-Musawi Dehlavi. This research, with a descriptive-analytical approach and based on a focus on the position and position of Dehlavi, explains the relationship between hadith jurisprudence and other related sciences and his specific methods in analyzing narrations. The results show that the explanation of narrations in this work is based on Dehlavi's scientific characteristics and personal style, and a significant variety is observed in the explanatory methods. Among the most important methods are citing verses and narrations, referring to the opinions of scholars, lexical, morphological, and syntactic explanations, tasheef in narrations, and examining different versions of Muwatta.
